Cosmic Scope for Oct 2024
I have no doubt that the month of October will feature many headlines, especially in the second half of the month. This month will highlight beginning and end of relationships, secrets revealed, power struggles, collapse of structures. It calls for lots of inner healing in every one of us.
The month starts with a Solar Eclipse in Libra at 10°02’ on 2 Oct. This signifies new beginnings in relationships of all kinds. The sign of Libra focuses on peace, harmony and equality. Is there a relationship or partnership that you would like to start afresh?
On 4 Oct, Venus trine Saturn, Scorpio at 14°07’. Venus in Scorpio likes intense and passionate connection. Saturn in Pisces in retrograde deals internally on what is the kind of love that you are looking for. Not on a physical level, but on a spiritual and karmic level.
Mercury in Libra at 21°20’ trine Jupiter on 8 Oct forms an Easy Opposition aspect. Chiron in Aries that needs to heal the wound about not feeling confident enough and has difficulties staying independent and brave opposing Mercury in Libra who needs partnerships and relationships. With Jupiter in Gemini at the Apex point, forming a trine to Mercury and sextile to Chiron, lots of information sharing and communication will help ease the opposing energies.
On 9 Oct, Jupiter goes Retrograde (R) in Gemini at 21°20’ and will station direct on 4 Feb 2025. These 4 months calls for us to go introspective. Jupiter expands and think big picture with the Sagittarius archetype but in the sign of Gemini, it needs to do some self-reflections on how we learn, communicate, share information, talk to siblings and neighbors. This is the best time to focus on your daily meditation ritual. Focus on your inner body energy. Close your eyes and just feel the inner sensation of your body. It’s a beautiful and peaceful feeling. You will eventually feel your whole body very light and fluffy, forgetting about the outer layer of the body.
Pluto finally turns Direct on 12 Oct at 29°38’, the final degree of Capricorn. This is Pluto’s last ride in the sign of Capricorn, and it urgently needs to speed up the final demolition work that has to be completed before its ingress into the sign of Aquarius on 19 Nov for a good almost 20 years! I won’t be surprised to see things heating up really fast with all the final struggles of wanting to preserve old structures and paradigms. Power struggles, power plays, authorities clamping down on people. But with the other 4 outer planets all in retrograde motion, this is the time for all of us to turn inwards to reflect. What can we all learn from these chaotic situations? How can we change the way we use resources? Can we be more compassionate towards one another? Rather than focusing on our differences, can we see that we are in fact from the same source? This reminds me of the parable of the blind men and an elephant originated from Hindi and Buddhism texts. A group of blind men who have never come across an elephant learn and imagine what it is like by each touching a part of the elephant. They each form their own perception of the elephant and share with each other, only to find that everyone has a different perception of it. This leads to disagreements and suspicion of dishonesty. The moral of this story is that humans tend to believe based on their own limited and subjective experience and ignore the others’ opinion which may be equally true.
On 13 Oct, Mercury at 29°38' in Libra forms a square aspect with Pluto. Mercury in Libra wants peace and harmony in relationships. But Pluto at its final degree in Capricorn doesn’t care about that and will brutally crush anything that no longer works.
Later in the day, Mercury transitions into Scorpio. However, this tension will be short-lived as Mercury soon begins to embody Plutonian energy, aligning with Pluto's ruling sign.
On 14 Oct, Venus in Scorpio at 26°30’ is in opposition to Uranus. Venus in Scorpio can be very fixated to the extent of obsession as compared to Uranus who wants change.
The Full Moon in Aries at 24°34’ on 17 Oct calls for a culmination of relationships. Think back 6 months ago during the Solar Eclipse in Aries on 8 Apr, did you try to stand up for yourself and was brave enough to fight back in a relationship or partnership? This is the time to celebrate your bravery and success! You did it!
Venus enters Sagittarius on the later part of the same day. There is the need to explore and see the world. There could be love beyond the sea. somewhere far, far away. If you are already in a relationship, you might crave for some freedom if the past whole month has been too intense in the sign of Scorpio. Things will get lighter.
We are officially entering the Scorpio season on 22 Oct, and it starts off with the Sun in Libra at 29°40’ squaring Pluto. There could be ego clashes and power struggles. Not long after, the Sun enters Scorpio. Watch out for secrets being revealed as the Sun will illuminate anything hidden.
On 28 Oct, Venus in Sagittarius at 12°58’ square Saturn. Venus wants to expand the love and explore; Saturn in Pisces draws the boundaries. Its best to draw the wisdom from Sagittarius and look within when Saturn is asking us to rely on our intuition (Pisces) on what we truly love.
Finally, on 30 Oct, the final major aspect is Mercury in Scorpio at 25°56’ in opposition to Uranus. Mercury in Scorpio is a deep thinker while Uranus just wants to change and be quick. There might be an uneasy feeling of anxiety and restlessness. But just take it easy for the day. This too shall pass.
Wow! What a month! My advice is do not be overwhelmed but the events that might happen this month. Continue to stay as an ‘observer’. Not only on whole events or things happening around us, but also to observe how things unfold in our own lives. Try to stay detached and not be too caught up with emotions and thoughts. You will be fine :)
Till next time, sending love, joy and peace for a great month of October ahead.
